DayKeeper Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 6, 2026
This Privacy Policy applies to the DayKeeper mobile app. For privacy questions, support, or account/data deletion requests, use Settings → Account and data deletion in the app. This opens the in-app deletion/support flow.
Data We Handle
DayKeeper may handle the following data:
- Name and email address for account, authentication, account recovery, groups, and support.
- Reminder content, notes, dates, notification settings, group membership, and group notification data.
- Feedback Center messages used for support and admin replies.
- Device push notification tokens used for personal, group, scheduled group, and support-message notifications.
- Premium subscription status and purchase token metadata used to verify Google Play subscription entitlement.
- User-selected photos or scanned document images used for reminder and document-expiry features.
- Voice recordings used only when the user chooses voice reminder transcription.
- Contacts used only when the user chooses contact-based call or reminder helpers.
- Precise and background location used only for place-based reminders and geofence reminders.
Location Data
DayKeeper uses precise location for current-place selection and place-based reminders. Background location is used only so place-based reminders can work when the app is closed. Location history is not used for advertising, profiling, or cross-app tracking.
Contacts, Microphone, Camera, And Gallery
Contacts access is used only when the user chooses contact-based reminder or call reminder helpers. Microphone access is used for voice-to-text reminder creation when the user explicitly records audio. Camera and gallery access is used only for user-selected reminder or document images.
Notifications And Groups
DayKeeper can send local notifications and server-assisted notifications through Firebase Cloud Messaging and Firebase Functions. These notifications support personal reminders, group reminders, scheduled group notifications, and Feedback Center support messages.
AI And Third-Party Services
When the user chooses AI-assisted features, reminder text, voice audio, or document images may be sent through Firebase Cloud Functions to OpenAI or Gemini for processing. Weather, history, currency, sports, and similar optional extras may use public APIs. Requests are limited to the data needed for the selected feature.
Storage, Sharing, And Security
Data may be stored locally on the device and, when needed for account, sync, notification, support, or premium features, in Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Firebase Cloud Messaging, and Firebase Cloud Functions.
Google Play Billing processes payment checkout. DayKeeper does not collect or store payment card numbers. DayKeeper may store subscription status and purchase token metadata for entitlement verification.
Personal and sensitive data is encrypted in transit. API keys and billing verification credentials are kept in Firebase Functions runtime configuration and are not intended to be stored in the mobile app bundle.
Retention And Deletion
Users may request account and data deletion through Settings → Account and data deletion in the app. Some records, such as support messages, premium entitlement records, and server logs, may be retained as needed for legal, security, billing, fraud-prevention, and service operation purposes.
Children's Privacy
DayKeeper is not intended to knowingly collect personal data from children without the required consent and app store disclosures. If you believe a child has provided personal data, contact us through the Feedback Center.
Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy when DayKeeper's features, data practices, or legal requirements change. The latest version should be available in the app and through the public privacy policy URL used in Google Play Console.
